My Promise to You

During my twenty plus years as a Police Officer I saw first hand the stark reality and permanent destruction as a result of an active shooter. I have had extremely emotional conversations with witnesses and victims whose lives were changed forever, and unfortunately not for the better. And most alarming was that I saw a growing evil trend, a trend that today is no longer a possibility, but more like a probability.

“Perhaps the most striking to many of us was that in the moments of crisis, there’s not nearly as much time as you think you have to plan for the best course of action.”

Michele Gay, Mother of victim at Sandy Hook

It is extremely hard for a law enforcement officer to be called to an active shooter situation knowing that every second counts but you are minutes away. I knew there had to be a better way to address this nightmare more effectively and minimize, if not completely eliminate, the possible loss of life. After my retirement from the police force this search for a “Better way” became my obsession. Finding it, teaching it and advancing it became my passion.

Police Officers can’t be everywhere when they are needed the most, but there are people who could be. The potential victims. If I could just arm them with the knowledge on how to prevent an active shooter situation, or educate them on what to do in the event of an active shooter, then there would be an extremely large chance of saving lives until police officers did arrive at the scene. This goal was the foundation of the development of TASC.

“Due to the increase in violence and decrease in law enforcement response, it is vital for people to know how to defend themselves and/or find safety. I learned different ways to defend myself and respond to a threat and how to react – invaluable”

During my research prior to the launch of TASC I found some existing companies that presented themselves as being efficient in providing effective workshops and, like all industries, I found too many wanna-be’s who, for the sake of money, were peddling what I knew from my own experience to be harmful information that would undoubtedly result in the loss of innocent lives. Unfortunately there is no way to stop this spread of misinformation. But my goal wasn’t to stop them or even compete against them because TASC was designed to not even be in the same category with them.

Lives, possibly yours or even one of your loved ones, are literally on the line and I don’t want room for any error. This fact alone is why I wanted TASC to be elite. It is meant to quickly and effectively confront the worst case scenarios in the highest targeted places by active shooters. In order to achieve this level of the highest standards for TASC I advanced my own certification and qualifications to include Incident Command for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Active Shooter Emergency Response for the Department of Homeland Security. I also surpassed recruiting good instructors or even great instructors. I only hired the BEST instructors. Those with similar real life experiences and certifications coupled with the same passion that I have.

“A lot of important information was shared that all people need to know. Matt did an excellent job. Very knowledgeable and shared a lot of personal real life experiences.”

Although I wanted TASC to grow so that we could reach everyone who wanted the best training that they could get, I’ve never thought that Bigger was Better. Bigger is Bigger. Better is Better, and I continually focus on making TASC the BEST.
Although TASC has been hired by multiple government agencies, school districts, lending institutions, corporations and businesses of all types, in order to achieve being the BEST I had to narrow my focus to one thing. One expertise. One area of extreme vulnerability. And that one area is where I believe to be the most at risk of being attacked. Businesses and corporations, with a growing trend focusing on their owners, CEO’s and executives, are statistically the number one target for active shooters. That fact has created an insatiable demand for help as a result. For that reason providing the ultimate in active shooter prevention and countermeasures for Fortune corporations is what I do. It’s now all that I do. It is my specialty and area of expertise.

In between providing training, consulting, workshops and seminars for them I am continually monitoring and studying active shooter situations, looking for new trends, new potential targets and new devastating tactics that an active shooter may resort to to fulfill their demented goal. I study current cases both in the U.S. and overseas looking for anything that will help me provide my clients with the upper hand. What may be effective countermeasures for a corporation today may not be next year as they expand, change and grow as a company. I need to be ahead of their progress and continually update their security measures before it is even needed. The best time to defuse a bomb is before it goes off.

TASC is how I keep my promise to each of my clients that their safety is my passion. Being a police officer was my choice. Keeping you and your employees safe is my calling.

Thank You,
